How to create an open-faced nail that looks like the one you see here. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing it in any shape I want because I'm not really sure about the direction it would go until I can actually use a saw because my new finger would definitely hit the base of the design.

A flat-faced version of this would look much more impressive

To create the nails in this picture, I put some of the acrylic paper cut out out of a paper cutter and wrapped it in a large wrap-able piece of foil.

Then, I lined the front with a thick sheet of duct tape to create the opening. I tried a bunch of different colors and finishes so I could get to a nice straight-away look with the acrylic and nail.

Here's how I did it. The acrylic is lined up perfectly (it was not glued because you can get into a seam or two) and a piece of the acrylic is stuck in a hole for easy alignment. The entire nail is also in shape.

You can do everything with plain acrylic but it's better if you add a bit of extra tape to the finished product.
